MS-13 member sentenced to 60 years

An MS-13 gang member from Reston was sentenced to 60 years in prison on Friday for his role in multiple shootings.

On Sept. 17, 2008, in Sterling, Va., Antonio Neftali Urrutia-Barrera, 20, fired multiple shots out of a vehicle while riding with another MS-13 member. He wounded three individuals, one of whom is now paralyzed from the waist down, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Urrutia-Barrera was also present at a second MS-13 attack that took place in Reston, Va., in October 2008 in which MS-13 member Dennis Bernandez shot at two rival gang members and a third individual. Two of the victims, including the unaffiliated bystander, suffered permanent injuries.

Chantilly man arrested for attempted abduction

A 38-year-old man from Chantilly, Va., has been arrested for allegedly trying to abduct a 16-year-old girl.

Charles Murphy Doggett was taken into custody on March 19, police said. The incident occurred in Bristow, Va., at about 6:40 a.m. on March 15, according to police.

The victim stepped out of her house to take the bus to school when the suspect grabbed her arm and forced her back in. The family dog barked and the suspect left the scene, police said.

D.C. police make arrest in October 2009 homicide

A 21-year-old male has been arrested on murder charges in connection with the Oct. 20 shooting death of Damon Tolson, District police said.

Christopher Antwon Edge was taken into custody Friday. He’s accused of shooting Tolson to death on the 4800 block of Benning Road Southeast.

Body found in Alexandria pond

A person walking on the 8300 block of Pondside Terrace in Alexandria found a body floating in a pond, Fairfax County police said.

The body, which was found Thursday, has been sent to the medical examiner. Police have not released a name or information on the body’s gender.
