4th quarter review
Blatche might very well foul out before the game is over at this rate. He’s not happy with the officials…
What happened to the Mike Miller stationed in the corner shooting threes? He’s running, jumping, rebounding, basically anything but…
You can say what you want about rotation and minutes not mattering during the preseason. But Mike James hasn’t yet left the bench in the second half, neither has Dominic McGuire…
Flip Saunders says he doesn’t praise makes or misses, only good shots. McGee tests that theory by swishing a turnaround from deep…
Wiz reserves have cut the lead to seven. Barea halts the run, coaxing another offensive foul call in his favor.
For the second time in a few minutes, Blatche hasn’t been able to find a cutting McGee. Each time, JaVale has pointed up, wanting the ball up high instead of at his chest.
Talk about a garbage minute: McGee and Blatche both score, and Randy Foye hits a running 25-footer at the buzzer but it doesn’t count. too late. 123-115, Mavs.
It’s hard not to look at the final score without thinking back to the way Arenas played in the first quarter and what it meant to lose Brendan Haywood. Washington was different without the big defensive anchor. With him gone and Arenas acting solely as a facilitator, the latter didn’t get the points he should’ve, and the Wizards, accordingly, were down by seven after the first 12 minutes. He found his stroke in the third quarter but it looked like his teammates just stood there and watched just like the fans, as each time he scored, the Mavericks responded. Those two quarters were responsible for the margin in the contest.
