CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Two U.S. senators from West Virginia and Virginia are teaming up to discuss the nation’s energy future and how coal can play a role in it.
West Virginia’s Joe Manchin and Virginia’s Mark Warner will be in attendance Wednesday in Washington for what they’re calling a coal technology seminar. Manchin’s office says the symposium will hear from leading experts on current or emerging technology involving coal-based power.
Those technologies include energy-efficient approaches, carbon capture and storage, and coal’s place in the future energy mix.
The symposium is sponsored by the University of North Dakota and West Virginia University.
