Sen. Bernie Sanders is a Jedi master, actor Danny DeVito said at a campaign event Sunday.
Introducing the Democratic candidate for president at a rally in Brooklyn, N.Y., two days before New York’s primary, DeVito attempted to rile up the crowd.
“We are going to go out and vote and put this man on Pennsylvania Avenue,” DeVito said, before leading those in attendance in a chant of Bernie’s first name.
As Sanders walked to the stage, DeVito yelled, “He’s coming, baby! … Our Obi Wan,” referring to the Jedi master from the “Star Wars” movies.
The Vermont senator thanked Devito for his support, calling him one of the “great actors in America.”
DeVito is one of a number of Hollywood actors campaigning for Sanders, including Rosario Dawson and Danny Glover.
