While in Nashville, Tenn., we spotted hometown boy Al Gore shopping at the new Whole Foods in the Green Hills neighborhood. How eco-friendly of him.

Unfortunately, the former vice president was having a bit of trouble. When we spotted him, he was standing at the hot soup station, attempting to mop some substance off his sleeve.

Soup, we’d guess.

The Nobel Prize winner was looking fitter than he has been of late, but that’s not to say he wasn’t interested in the sweets.  “Mmm, chocolate fig cake,” we heard him exclaim, as he mulled over the desserts.
