Sex offender charged in hotel abduction
Arlington County police have arrested a registered sex offender in an abduction and robbery of two women at a hotel. With the help of Charles County sheriff’s deputies, police arrested and charged Storme Swann, 49, of La Plata, with the intent to defile and two counts of robbery.
Police said the attack occurred Aug. 14 at a hotel in the 2400 block of South Glebe Road. At 11:45 p.m., a woman answered a knock at her hotel room door, and a man forced his way inside. The suspect restrained the two female occupants and sexually assaulted one of the women. He fled after stealing electronics and money. An anonymous tip through Crime Solvers lead detectives to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office who identified the suspect as a registered sex offender in Maryland. He is currently being held without bond in Maryland.
Intruder stabbed to death
In Prince George’s County an intruder was fatally stabbed while trying to break into an Oxon Hill home. Police said officers were called to the 3100 block of Brinkley Road around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, police found a man suffering from stab wounds.
The man, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
P.G. investigates slaying
A Glen Dale man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in New Carrollton, according to Prince George’s County police.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday, New Carrollton police officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Heritage Square Apartments in the 7700 block of Riverdale Road.
When officers arrived, they discovered Mark Delroy McFarlane, 43, critically injured from gunshot wounds. McFarlane was pronounced dead on the scene. Detectives are working to establish a suspect or suspects and a motive in this case. Prince George’s County police are helping New Carrollton in the investigation. – Compiled by Scott McCabe
