Clinton maintains Electoral College lead in Reuters poll

A new project found that Hillary Clinton would likely get 326 votes in the Electoral College, well above the 270 needed to win the presidency.

The results released Saturday under the Reuters/Ipsos State of the National project found that the Democratic nominee had better than 95 percent chance of winning the election.

If the election was held this week, the most likely outcome would be 326 votes for Clinton and 212 for GOP nominee Donald Trump, Reuters said.

The results were based off polling in critical swing states including Florida and Pennylsvania, where Clinton maintains a slim lead. The race remains too close to call in Ohio.

Trump did gain ground in South Carolina as his lead in the traditionally red state increased to seven points.

However, he is facing significant challenges in Arizona and in Utah. Polls show Trump either tied or slightly behind independent conservative challenger Evan McMullin in Utah.

Trump is also losing ground in Arizona, where Clinton has expanded her presence. Reuters said that Arizona is now too close to call.
