Former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., praised Donald Trump in terms that no one who knew him on the reality tv show “The Apprentice” would likely apply to the celebrity CEO.
Asked about his meeting with Trump, Romney replied that “he is always delightful – I enjoy Donald Trump.” On the more substantive issue of China, Romney said:
“[Trump] and I actually see pretty much eye-to-eye on China. We see them not only as an economic threat, a cultural threat down the road [but] they’re building a very strong military with potentially the intent to dissuade us from sending ships to the South China Sea, military ships. So, we see them as an economic threat at least and I think we share some common views in that regard.”
