A Silver Spring man who was convicted of raping a girl in 2003 has pleaded guilty Wednesday to coercing another 13-year-old to engage in sex.
Prosecutors said the latest girl was 34-year-old Michael Allen Alper’s third victim.
In February 2010, a month after Alper completed the terms of his probation for a 2003 rape conviction, he met a 13-year-old girl at an anime and gaming conference in Oxon Hill, according to the U.S. Attorney for Maryland ‘s office.
He continued to be friends with the girl and persuaded her to sneak out of her friend’s house to meet in the woods where he engaged in sexually expllictit conduct with the girl. The girl later discovered Alper’s true identity and that he was a registered sex offender.
As a 27-year-0ld living in Fairfax County, Alper met two young girls online, and forced one of them to have sex in the back of his car. He was sentenced to three years in prison and three years probation.
