Arena Stage is giddy over the fact that its production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! has been seen by 100,000 people — and counting. To commemorate the awesomeness, the theater is hosting a three-day community celebration next weekend featuring $45 tickets to all remaining performances.
The celebration begins Wednesday at 12:01 a.m. and continues until Friday at 11:59 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Sales Office (1101 Sixth St., SW) or by phone at 202-488-3300 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and online at www.arenastage.org.
Tickets are offered on a first come, first served basis, and Arena Stage says it is expecting all remaining tickets for the run will sell out.
“By reaching 100,000 people, not only has it generated more audiences in the shortest amount of time than any other resident production in the Washington area, but it has also introduced thousands of children and adults to the distinctive beauty of live theater, and has inspired audiences to return to the theater again and again,” Linda Levy Grossman, president and CEO of the Helen Hayes Awards, said of the production.
