Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore is “hyped” for the upcoming revival of the show that shares his surname, the “Gilmore Girls.”
“I don’t know if you’ve heard about this, but the show the ‘Gilmore Girls’ is back on television,” Gilmore was told Tuesday by Yahoo News national correspondent Hunter Walker in a video posted to Twitter.
“Isn’t that great?” replied Gilmore, who was in Colonial Williamsburg, Va., to warm up the crowd at a rally for Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence.
When asked if he is “hyped,” Gilmore answered, “I’m hyped and they’re all supporting me no matter what I do — it’s great.”
“And do you support the Gilmore Girls?” Walker asked.
“The Gilmore girls and I get along great,” Gilmore said.
The “Gilmore Girls” rivival is slated for Nov. 25 on Netflix after the show’s original run ended in 2007 after seven seasons.
Gilmore referenced the “Gilmore Girls” in a campaign ad released by Independent Review Journal before a GOP presidential undercard debate appearance in January.
In the ad, flush with blaring music and the candidate gripping a big metal chain, he said, “You’ve heard about the Gilmore girls. I’m the Gilmore man.”
He ended his campaign for the Republican nomination in February.
