A 26-year-old Silver Spring woman was arrested in connection with a botched robbery in Gaithersburg, according to the Montgomery County police.

Kelly A. Phillips, of the 14100 block of Heritage Lane, was charged with attempted armed bank robbery and possession of marijuana.

According to police, at about 4 p.m. Feb. 9, a female suspect entered the Wachovia Bank, at 607 N. Frederick Ave., and passed a note demanding cash to the teller.

The suspect said she had a gun, but the teller did not see one. Before she was able to get any cash, the woman left the bank and fled on foot toward a hotel.
