NBA star Stephen Curry jokes about being included in House GOP tax bill doc: ‘Is Steve’s Bike Shop hiring?’

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was the only person mentioned in a fact sheet about the House GOP’s tax reform bill, and he wants to know if the hypothetical small business he was compared to is hiring.

The NBA All-Star’s name was written in a “Frequently Asked Questions” document about the House GOP’s tax bill on Thursday. Curry’s name appears in the bill’s explanation of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

“Our Legislation will ensure this much-needed tax relief goes to the local job creators it’s designed to help by distinguishing between the individual wage income of NBA All-Star Stephen Curry and the pass-through business income of Steve’s Bike Shop.”

The mention didn’t escape Curry, who figured maybe he’d see if the fictional business was hiring.

Curry was in the spotlight earlier this year after a brief feud with President Trump. The president officially uninvited Curry to the White House after the Golden State Warriors’ point guard declared his disinterest in going now after Trump was elected.
