Curt Schilling just called lynching journalists t-shirt ‘awesome’

Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling retweeted then later deleted a photo on Monday that called for members of the media to be lynched.

The Republican, who is considering a 2018 run for Elizabeth Warren’s Senate seat in Massachusetts, called the picture “so much awesome.”

The image was taken at a Donald Trump rally and shows the back of a man’s t-shirt, which has the words “Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required” printed on the back.

Schilling later defended the photo as “funny,” adding “if it offends” people, they should block him or “shut the hell up.”

It’s not the first time the Trump supporter has waded into controversy. Earlier this year, the ESPN contributor was fired for sharing a meme on Facebook that ridiculed transgender bathroom laws.
