Police: Woman set fire outside apartment with family inside

Fairfax County officials are looking for a woman accused of setting fire to a doormat outside an Herndon apartment that had five adults and two children inside.

Police said Erika Arilene Garcia-Cruz, 31, is wanted for the felony burning of an occupied building and for making felony threats to burn a dwelling to occurred in March 29. Fire marshals said Garcia-Cruz set fire to a doormat that caused minor damage to an apartment door. There were no injuries.

Garcia-Cruz is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. She may be driving a silver 2002 Ford Expedition with Virginia plates.
