An anti-Trump protester who soared a Greenpeace paraglider within yards of President Trump during a visit to his luxury golf resort in Scotland, violating a no-fly zone, has been arrested.
The man, 55, whose motorized paraglider carried a banner that said, “Trump: Well below par #Resist,” caused panic on Friday night when he flew passed Trump and first lady Melania Trump during their stay at the Trump Turnberry golf course, according to the Independent. A joint U.S. Secret Service-Metropolitan Police security detail quickly ushered the first couple inside to safety.
Police Scotland condemned the act, telling the BBC the activist was in “grave danger” as a group of snipers perched on the hotel’s roof could have shot and killed him.
Greenpeace told news outlets they gave police two warnings about their stunt, while also calling local air traffic control to advise them they planned to breach the exclusion zone around the golf property, before sharing images of the incident on social media.
We’ve hit @realDonaldTrump where it hurts – at his golf course. Trump does not believe in climate change. He’s pulled the US out of the Paris Agreement, and is committed to burning more climate wrecking coal. We couldn’t let him get away with a quiet game of golf… #resist pic.twitter.com/Di9SllcqN1

Greenpeace spokesman Ben Stewart said British Prime Minister Theresa May should not have “dignified” Trump with a working visit to the U.K. to demonstrate against his environment and immigration policies, per Metro.co.uk.
“He is, simply, the worst president ever. That’s why we flew over him with a message branding him well below par,” Stewart said.
The man is expected to appear in court on July 16.
Trump is relaxing at Turnberry before his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday in Helsinki, Finland.
