The Drug Enforcement Administration will hold a prescription drug take-back day on Saturday. People can drop off prescription drugs at sites across the country to get rid of expired or otherwise unwanted medications.
All types of medicines are accepted and no questions will be asked. People are encouraged to remove labels and black out personal information before dropping off medications.
Many people flush unwanted prescription drugs down the toilet or throw them away, which can cause health hazards.
Local law enforcement agencies, from Montgomery County to Alexandria, will partner with the DEA for the initiative.
