Hunter who? Ex-Biden official Jen Psaki tries to downplay potential Hunter charges

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki downplayed a recent Washington Post report that federal investigators are mulling charges against Hunter Biden.

Echoing similar sentiments on Hunter Biden she once conveyed from the White House podium, Psaki argued that most rank-and-file voters do not care about Biden’s legal woes and instead are more focused on the scandals dogging Republican candidates.

“So the truth is, as much as there was so much news happening in Washington this week, it doesn’t always translate and often doesn’t translate to what voters are talking about in states, and I think that’s what we’re seeing currently,” Psaki contended on NBC’s Meet the Press.

Last week, the Washington Post reported that federal investigators believe they have amassed sufficient evidence to lodge criminal charges against Hunter Biden for making a false statement about a gun purchase and various tax crimes.

The U.S. attorney in Delaware is still deciding what specific charges to levy against him.

It has long been known that authorities have been investigating Hunter Biden and weighing possible charges against him for tax crimes, his overseas business dealings, and the purchase of a firearm that he should have been barred from buying due to his drug addiction.

The Washington Post report indicated that investigators believe they have enough to charge Hunter. But Psaki suggested the younger Biden’s legal woes may not be a large liability for Democrats broadly because it’s so confined to the beltway. She harped on Republican scandals instead.

“If you look at the front pages in Pennsylvania, they’re talking about Mastriano, does he have a grassroots campaign or movement going, and obviously, Georgia is quite focused on every latest development in Herschel Walker,” she added.

Psaki had a history of fielding questions about the younger Biden’s various entanglements during her stint as White House press secretary. President Joe Biden has distanced himself from his son’s overseas business affairs.

Republicans have also signaled they plan to deploy congressional committees in their quest to investigate Hunter Biden if they recapture the House.
