Gloria Allred drops Trump accuser Summer Zervos

Attorney Gloria Allred has dropped client Summer Zervos, one of the women accusing President Trump of sexual misconduct before he was elected, according to a report published late Thursday.

Allred did not give a reason for dropping her client, but said the withdrawal “has nothing to do with the merits of her case against President Trump.” The move comes just days after a New York court said Zervos could go forward with a defamation suit against Trump, which she initiated after Trump denied her claims against him.

Zervos, a former contestant on Trump’s NBC reality TV show “The Apprentice,” accused Trump in the fall of kissing and groping her against her will.

The status of her case in unknown. The Associated Press reported that the Zervos case had been mostly handled by a separate attorney, Mariann Wang, who is still representing her.
