Jared Kushner, a White House senior adviser and President Trump’s son-in-law, briefed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday about the Trump administration’s reluctance to unveil its plan for peace between Israel and Palestine, according reports.
The White House has been strategizing for the better part of the past year, but its reticence to make its peace plan public is driven by concerns it will be rejected outright by Palestinians, per the Times of Israel and Channel 10, a TV station in Israel.
Kushner and wife Ivanka Trump, a fellow White House adviser, arrived in Israel Sunday as part of a high-profile delegation that will attend the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem on Monday following its controversial move from Tel Aviv.
The Free Beacon also reported Sunday that the Trump administration would not preview elements of the policy “because no one is going to like everything in it,” particularly if segments are taken out of context.
The news outlet added that the White House was in the “late phases” of finalizing the plan and it expected to present it to both parties in one to two months.
