Marco Rubio, Rand Paul feud continues on ABC’s ‘This Week’

Likely 2016 presidential hopefuls Marco Rubio and Rand Paul have been going after each other all week for statements made on President Obama’s decision to normalize relations with Cuba and the feud did not take a break over the weekend.

The Florida senator, one of the most outspoken critics of the new Cuba policy, appeared on ABC’s “This Week” to talk about why he doesn’t agree with the new rules and to continue to throw shade at Paul.

Host George Stephanopoulos asked Rubio about the “Twitter war” and about the Kentucky senator accusing Rubio of being an isolationist on this issue.

“Well, first of all, Rand, if he wants to become the chief cheerleader of Obama’s foreign policy, he certainly has a right to do that,” Rubio said. “I’m going to continue to oppose the Opama — Obama-Paul foreign policy on Cuba because I know it won’t lead to freedom and liberty for the Cuban people, which is my sole interest here.”

Stephanopoulos asked Rubio if Paul got the GOP nomination in 2016 would he be able to support him.

“I anticipate supporting whoever the Republican nominee is and I’m pretty confident that the Republican nominee for president will be someone who has a pretty forceful role — view of America’s role in the world as a defender of democracy and of freedom and also understands that it’s important for America to be engaged on the global stage,” Rubio replied.

Shots fired.
