Majority doesn’t believe critical race theory and transgender issues are ‘phony’ culture wars in schools: Poll

Most aren’t decrying concerns such as critical race theory and transgender issues as “phony,” a national poll found.

Fifty-seven percent said parents should be concerned over those ideologies regarding how their children are taught in schools, according to a Rasmussen survey.

Twenty-seven percent called those issues “phony,” while 16% weren’t sure.

Seventy-six percent are concerned public schools are teaching such ideologies.

Twenty-eight percent of white respondents, 23% of black respondents, and 25% of other minority respondents said critical race theory and transgender concerns are “phony” issues.

Former President Barack Obama said on Oct. 23 such issues are “phony.”

“We don’t have time to be wasting on these phony, trumped-up culture wars,” Obama said at Virginia Commonwealth University while rallying for gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe.

The Rasmussen survey was conducted among 1,000 U.S. adults between Oct. 23 and 24.
