Maryland Sen. Brian Frosh, a Democrat, is exploring a run for state attorney general in 2014, he confirmed Thursday.
Frosh, a resident of Somerset, represents the Bethesda area. He is chairman of the state Senate’s Judicial Proceedings committee and has been a member of the state Senate since 1995. He was a state delegate from 1987 until he was elected to the Senate.
Lately he has received attention for calls to fine Pepco $100 million following the company’s inability to restore power quickly after a June 29 storm, and for a proposal to eliminate the Maryland law that allows electric companies to recoup revenue lost in the first 24 hours of a power outage.
Current Attorney General Doug Gansler is widely expected to run for governor in 2014.
