‘On the fence’ no more: Kim Kardashian to vote Hillary Clinton

Kim Kardashian says she’s decided to vote for Hillary Clinton after indicating last week she hadn’t made up her mind.

“I thought about the things that are so important to me that they outweigh everything else, such as gun control and protecting women’s rights to safe and legal abortion,” Kardashian wrote on her website Saturday.

“I found that without a doubt, I stand with Hillary. I’m with her. I believe Hillary will best represent our country and is the most qualified for the job,” the post says.

Kardashian had never said she’d vote for Donald Trump, but the celebrity sparked widespread speculation by telling Wonderland magazine she was “on the fence” about who to vote for. Kardashian wrote that by using the phrase “on the fence,” she actually meant she wasn’t sure whether she would vote at all this year.

“I want to explain the context in which I said I was ‘on the fence’ about my vote,” she wrote. “There was a point when I wasn’t 100% sure I was even going to vote in this election; I didn’t want to vote blindly.”

A conversation with her step-parent, Caitlyn Jenner, was what helped her decide to vote for Clinton, Kardashian wrote. Jenner told her to vote for the candidate who backed the policies she cares about the most — which, for Kardashian, are abortion rights and gun control.
