If the Redskins want Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen, at least one former college scout has some advice: Don’t take him with the fourth overall pick in the first round. While Mel Kiper Jr. likes him and rates him just below Sam Bradford, others aren’t sold.
One scout, who has scouted Clausen for his three years in college, said he’ll measure shorter than his listed height of 6-foot-3 — possibly several inches shorter — and that will cause him to fall in some teams’ eyes.

“He would be a good pick at 36, but not at four,” the scout said.
The scout’s take on Clausen?
“He showed a very strong command of their offensive system, as well as outstanding poise and toughness in his play. He is a very good overall athlete for the position. However, he is not a special athlete. He is an undersized passer with very good mobility.”
