Police are looking for a Texas woman called “The Wedding Crasher” who shows up as an uninvited guest on people’s wedding day and steals their gifts.
“It seems our suspect has found a lucrative way to make a living and has been clever in a way she executes, in the way she stole,” a Comal County detective told KENS Tuesday.
The woman has attended at least five weddings in Comal County disguised as a guest. The Sheriff’s Department said the thief has made off with envelopes of money and gift cards, likely worth thousands of dollars.
“This is someone that is marking somebody’s special day and essentially ruining it,” Detective Scott Frakes said.
Police said they have video surveillance footage of the woman after she used several of the gift cards. A $4,000 reward has been put up by Crime Stoppers for anyone who helps police catch the woman.
