Who: Sen. Barbara Boxer D-Calif. What: Appearing on Al Sharpton’s MSNBC show this week, she urged viewers: “If you’re a self-respecting human being, please vote for President Obama.”

Why it’s dim: This earnest plea is a bit hyperbolic — or so we hope. You’d expect that as someone who works with people with differing viewpoints every day, Boxer would know better.
