A Metrobus driver who was videotaped pushing a rider out the door of his bus is no longer working at the transit agency, Metro said Friday.
The unnamed driver had been filmed last month pushing the rider off the bus at night, causing concern after media outlets replayed the video.
Metro had called the action “unacceptable” and put out the call to speak with the person who shot the video to help identify the driver. But it turned out there was more to the story.
The man who was pushed out had apparently been drunk or high, stumbled onto the bus, crushed a toddler and a woman in the process, then yelled at his fellow riders and threatened the bus driver, according to City Paper.
Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said Friday that agency officials had completed its investigation into the matter. “I can’t provide specific details of action taken against an individual employee, other than to say that the employee no longer works for Metro,” he said.
