D.C. Schools Chancellor Michelle Rhee and fiance Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson still are getting hitched, but they’ve decided to nix plans for a Sept. 4 wedding in Sacramento.
The couple informed wedding guests Tuesday that now only close friends and family will be invited to their nuptials and that the date and place would be changed, according to the Sacramento Bee. Ouch.
“The reason we are making this change is that our current wedding plans are not what we had intended,” the couple wrote in an e-mail to guests. “We underestimated the intensity of interest in the wedding and didn’t manage that well, which was our responsibility.”
