Fox News has announced that they have parted ways with radio host Todd Starnes, whose show made headlines earlier this week after a guest claimed that Democrats worship an ancient demonic god to whom children were sacrificed.
Starnes, who hosted Starnes Country on Fox Nation for over a year, will not have his contract renewed and is no longer a network contributor, according to The Wrap. A network spokesperson confirmed the termination to the Washington Examiner and pointed out that the decision was made prior to the controversial segment from earlier this week.
The radio host drew criticism after Pastor Robert Jeffress alleged on his show that Democrats worship “the pagan god of the Old Testament Moloch” because of their abortion views. Moloch was prominent in the Old Testament as an evil Canaanite deity who demanded child sacrifice and whom the ancient Israelites were forbidden to worship.
Instead of his regular radio show, Fox News & Commentary, Fox News Radio will broadcast Fox News Across America, The Wrap reported. Starnes told FaithWire that he plans to launch Starnes Media Group, “a multi-faceted broadcasting and digital company focused on delivering authentic conservative news and commentary.”
Starnes has previously stoked controversy, perhaps most notably when he told Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar to take a “one-way plane ticket back to whatever third world hellhole you came from.” Jeffress also featured in recent news when Trump retweeted his comment claiming that if Democrats remove Trump from office, it would lead to a “Civil War-like fracture” in the U.S.
