Lara Trump: Trump’s Facebook ‘real news’ video series isn’t propaganda ‘because it’s true’

Lara Trump shrugged off criticism about President Trump’s “real news” Facebook video series, saying “it’s not propaganda because it’s true.”

“I think that’s ridiculous,” Lara Trump, Eric Trump’s wife, told Christian Broadcasting Network’s “Faith Nation.” “I mean, the reality is these are concrete things that are being accomplished every week by my father-in-law’s administration, and the reality is, if we had a fair shake within the regular news cycle, we wouldn’t feel like the need to post this sort of thing.”

“It’s not propaganda because it’s true,” she added.

The videos, posted on President Trump’s personal Facebook page, summarize what the administration has done in recent days. However, they have been slammed by some members of the media, who compared them to a “state-run” news outlet.

Lara Trump, who worked as a television news producer before joining her father-in-law’s campaign, said the program was inspired by a weekly newsletter the team used to publish in the lead-up to the Nov. 8 election.

She also said the one word she would use to describe her former contemporaries was “liars,” admitting that members of her family have distanced themselves or have been disassociated by their so-called friends and associates over politics.
