Sean Hannity is not backing down from his claims that murdered Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich may have leaked internal emails to WikiLeaks, possibly explaining his mysterious death.
Hannity, who initially based his commentary on a Fox News report that was retracted Tuesday, said on his radio show that he’s not going to follow suit.
“I feel so badly for this family and what they have been through, and what they are going through, and my thoughts and prayers are with them. This issue is so big now, that the entire Russia collusion narrative is hanging by a thread if, in fact — take Seth out of it — there was a whistleblower within the DNC, a truth teller, that actually was the source for WikiLeaks and not Russia working with the Trump campaign,” Hannity said.
“These are questions I have the moral obligation to ask. And I will do the mainstream media’s job like I have done for most of my career, like we got it right on Obama, his radicalism, his record, on Trump having a chance to win, on Michael Brown, on Trayvon Martin, on Cambridge police, on Baltimore. We’re right, they’re wrong.”
Hannity ended his statement by saying, “And all you in the liberal media, I am not Fox.com or FoxNews.com. I retracted nothing.”
The Rich family has written to Hannity’s top producer asking him to stop reporting on the allegations that Rich worked with WikiLeaks because it was hurting the family by fanning conspiracy theories.
Hannity has instead refused to back down from the report, pointing followers to Kim Dotcom — the Megaupload founder — and his attempts to track down more information on the Rich case.
In subsequent tweets, Hannity said he was doing what the Rich family wants.
“I said publicly over and over to the Rich family they are in my thoughts and prayers. I m trying to find the truth as the Mom Dad bro asked,” Hannity tweeted.
