WATCH: Hocus Pocus 2 trailer shows Sanderson sisters make long-awaited return

Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy reprise their roles as Sarah, Winifred, and Mary Sanderson in a new trailer for Hocus Pocus 2.

The sequel reunites the cast of the 1993 box-office flop that turned into a favored Halloween hit. After 29 years, the magical Sanderson sisters are accidentally summoned by a group of high school girls.

“Lock up your children!” Winifred says in the trailer, released Tuesday. “Yes, Salem … we’re back!”

Becca, Cassie, and Izzy are three high school girls who make the magical mistake of summoning the sisters. It then becomes their job to prevent disaster from striking and clean up their mess.

On opening weekend almost 30 years ago, the film only recouped $8.1 million. The project had a $28 million budget. The movie only boasts $29.5 million domestically and an estimated $44.9 million internationally to date.

However, the now-classic Halloween film appears at the top of physical media sales charts during the season, with estimates suggesting it garners at least $1 million in sales each October.
