Obama’s Saturday stop in Glen Allen, Va., comes as he tries to shore up middle-class support and attacks Republican nominee-apparent Mitt Romney as a Wall Street insider who outsourced American jobs when he headed the private equity firm Bain Capital.
About half an hour before Obama appeared outside a historic 19th-century tavern in Henrico County, thunder cracked and sheets of rain fell.
When Obama arrived shortly after noon, he promised new hair styling appointments for women in the crowd whose coiffures were ruined by the rain.
