For those stuck at home with nothing to do during the coronavirus outbreak, Popeyes has them covered.
The chicken chain is offering a unique promotion in which the company will provide some Popeyes fans with a username and password for Netflix so customers can “fried chicken ‘n’ chill.”
The company is planning to give the credentials to the first 1,000 people who post photos of themselves eating Popeyes on Twitter with the hashtag #ThatPasswordFromPopeyes. The chain still offers drive-through and takeout service despite restaurant restrictions and stay-at-home orders around the country.
“Where we come from, everyone is family. And families share video streaming accounts,” said a commercial announcing the promotion. The login information given to qualifying customers will be valid for a month.
Popeyes created a stir in the fast food world last year when it unveiled its chicken sandwiches and became a competitor to poultry sandwich chain Chick-fil-A. The popularity of the sandwiches, fueled by nationwide shortages, grew to a fever pitch and led to lawsuits, threats, and alleged murder.
