Sightings: Rachael Ray and chef Spike dine at Rasika

Celebrity chef Rachael Ray was spotted out to dinner at Rasika with nine guests Tuesday night, including “Top Chef” contestant and Good Stuff Eatery owner Spike Mendelsohn. The group was there for about two hours and chowed down on a selection of appetizers and entrees including the palak chaat, the cauliflower bezule and the green chicken masala.

At the same time we’re told that former Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe was at the restaurant with a guest. That table also tried the palak chatt, along with some Tandoori lamb chops.

Ray was in town to introduce new school lunch guidelines — less sodium, more whole grains and more fruits and veggies — alongside first lady Michelle Obama and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack Wednesday. The trio visited Parklawn Elementary in Alexandria to make the announcement.
