President Trump slammed Democrats for not offering anything to voters aside from speeches against his administration.
“The Democrats have no message, not on economics, not on taxes, not on jobs, not on failing #Obamacare. They are only OBSTRUCTIONISTS!” Trump tweeted.
It’s a reversal of a criticism often thrown at Republicans during President Obama’s administration, when the GOP was accused of being an obstructionist party.
While some Democrats have said there are areas that they could work with Trump, most have said their sole goal during Trump’s administration is to stop his agenda.
That has hurt some of Trump’s agenda, namely big-ticket items like healthcare and tax reform. Republican lawmakers have to find a way to do those policy items through reconciliation, which only requires 51 votes in the Senate and would avoid needing any Democratic votes.
