Ohio governor and former Republican presidential candidate John Kasich said he won’t support Donald Trump in light of a resurfaced video showing the GOP nominee making vulgar remarks about women.
“It’s clear that he hasn’t changed and has no interest in doing so,” Kasich said in a statement on Saturday. “As a result, Donald Trump is a man I cannot and should not support… I will not vote for a nominee who has behaved in a manner that reflects so poorly on our country. Our country deserves better.”
Kasich is among other GOP leaders who have rebuked Trump, including New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake.
In the 2005 video, first released by the Washington Post on Friday, Trump is overheard on a hot mic talking with a celebrity gossip show anchor as he arrives on set of a soap opera, where he was set to make a cameo appearance.
Trump makes several lewd remarks about women, including how he attempted to have sex with a married women and how many women let him aggressively hit on them because he’s “a star.”
After the Post’s report, Trump released a video apologizing for the comments.
