Fox Business host Lou Dobbs wondered aloud whether there might be more than a “coincidence” that all of the living former and current first ladies are showing a united front against the Trump administration’s zero tolerance policy on illegal border crossings resulting in family separations.
During his show Monday evening, Dobbs condemned the “national left-wing media” for acting in concert to cast a negative light on Trump administration’s hard-line immigration stance.
He also noted an “odd Greek chorus of dissent” coming from every living first lady: Rosalynn Carter, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, and Melania Trump.
“This just extraordinary coincidence that all of the living first ladies weigh in on so-called zero tolerance over the same period of time — that should be disturbing to everyone,” Dobbs said during a segment with Arizona Senate candidate Kelli Ward.

Later in the show, Dobbs brought up the first ladies again, this time suggesting there might be some sort of coordination.
The comment came as he was condemning House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., who reportedly has drawn up immigration legislation — one of two bills — that contains a provision to end family separations. “And it’s kind of interesting,” he said after claiming Ryan was doing “his masters’ bidding,” referencing the likes of K Street and the Koch brothers. “Suddenly we have all of the living first ladies talking about zero tolerance on the border. Who do you suppose organized that?”
Ed Rollins, a longtime GOP strategist, replied it was “certainly an orchestrated effort,” before going on to discuss immigration legislation in Congress.
