WATCH: The View hosts defend Biden gaffes against ‘ageist’ and ‘right-wing’ media

The ladies of The View are playing defense after President Joe Biden’s latest gaffe, in which he audibly wondered why a deceased congresswoman was not in attendance at an event.

“I want to thank all of you here, including bipartisan elected officials like Rep. McGovern, Sen. Braun, Sen. Booker, Rep. — Jackie, are you here?” Biden said, referring to Rep. Jackie Walorski, who died in a car crash last month. “Where’s Jackie? I thought she was going to be here — to help make this a reality,” he continued at Wednesday’s White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.

‘I FEEL SORRY FOR HIM’: BIDEN SLAMMED BY FAMILY OF DEAD CONGRESSWOMAN AFTER GAFFE

After the mistake, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was repeatedly pressed, telling reporters that Biden’s verbal misstep was a result of the congresswoman being “top of mind.”

Immediately during the broadcast, hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, and Sunny Hostin jumped to the president’s defense.

According to Behar, “the right wing has weaponized his gaffes.”

Whoopi Goldberg posited that because “you can’t go after him for not giving aid to Florida or not tackling the infrastructure,” critics are choosing to “go after him for forgetting that somebody has passed.”

“She passed last month, not like, 100 years ago,” she added.

Hostin took it even further, slamming America as “ageist” for criticizing Biden. “This country has a problem with age,” she added, claiming that elders are revered in other places.

“This is a man who has worked in government his entire life,” she said of the 79-year-old. “This is a man who probably had a relationship with this woman. And yes, she probably was top of mind.”

“I think they need to stop weaponizing his age. I hate that about this country,” Hostin continued.

Host Alyssa Farah Griffin admitted that Biden is “gaffe-prone” but said he has always been that way and that it is “endearing.”
