Apparently, Americans don’t like Obamacare, and they don’t want to keep it.
A recent Fox News poll shows that, if given the chance to vote to keep the 2010 Affordable Care Act in place, the majority of Americans would vote to repeal the law.
Specifically, 58 percent of those polled answered that they would vote to repeal the law, while only 38 percent would keep it.
Perhaps the growing negative sentiment surrounding the health care law has something to do with Jonathan Gruber, the Obamacare architect who has become infamous for claiming that the law was passed thanks to its “lack of transparency” and the “stupidity of the American voter.”
The Fox poll touched on Gruber’s remarks specifically, asking respondents exactly how much his comments bothered them, if at all.
A majority of those polled — 56 percent — answered that Gruber’s comments bothered them, with 37 percent saying that the Obamacare consultant’s statements bothered them a lot. In contrast, 42 percent described themselves as unbothered by the comments.
Moreover, slightly more than not believe that Gruber’s comments prove the Obama administration intentionally lied to the American public about the health care law.
While 49 percent agree that Gruber’s comments point to deceit by the administration, 43 percent don’t think they prove such intentional lying.
However, should it be discovered that Americans were lied to about the law, most respondents said that President Obama — over administration officials and Congress — would be to blame for the deceit.
Currently, Obama is enjoying a 59 percent disapproval rating on the job he is doing on health care.
The poll was conducted between December 7 and 9 and involved 1,043 registered voters.
