With inflation soaring and the southern border in complete chaos, Democrats are desperately trying to make this midterm election about the supposed threat to democracy posed by the Republican Party.
But the biggest threat to democracy isn’t a protest that lamentably turned into a riot — it is President Joe Biden’s disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law.
It matters how policy comes to be. Biden’s student debt amnesty program, announced this August, was implemented illegally through executive fiat. It did not pass either chamber of Congress. Yet somehow, Biden seems to have completely forgotten this fact.
At a presidential forum hosted by the far-left group NowThis, Biden was asked what he could do to make higher education more affordable, and he replied, in part, “You are probably aware I’ve just signed a law that’s being challenged by my Republican colleagues … what we’ve provided for is if you went to school, if you qualified for a Pell Grant, you qualify for $20,000 in debt forgiveness. Secondly, if you don’t have one of those loans, you just get $10,000 written off.”
“It’s passed. I got it passed by a vote or two, and it’s in effect.”
It’s anyone’s guess what he is talking about here. Biden never “signed” a new debt amnesty “law.” It didn’t pass either chamber of Congress. There was no vote, so Biden did not win “by a vote or two.”

It’s hard to tell what is scarier, a president that is old and senile that he honestly can’t remember what he passed through Congress and what he made up on his own illegally, or a president that is such a diabolical liar that he can so calmly utter such an obvious untruth in a public forum.
Either way, it is not surprising that Biden’s party appears on the verge of losing heavily at the ballot box next month.
