A lawyer for two District of Columbia school employees who were fired but then won their jobs back return court today to argue that D.C. school Superintendent Clifford B. Janey should be jailed for not reinstating the two men. Alfred Richards and Stephonos Ulis were fired from their jobs as school bus supervisors in April 2004. Last month, an administrative law judge ordered Janey and the schools to pay the pair nearly $400,000 in back pay and to put them back to work by March 15. Their lawyer, Stewart Fried, said that Janey and school officials have ignored the order.

He filed a motion last week asking Janey be held in contempt. A hearing on the motion is set for this morning.
