Anti-government protesters in the Ukrainian capital fought back Tuesday with rocks, bats and fire bombs against police trying to clear their tent camp in Kiev’s Independence Square.
Flames from burning barricades licked the night sky as police fired stun grenades and water cannons to push away protesters. At least 18 people died in the clashes, and hundreds were injured.
