Nancy Pelosi’s red coat is coming back to stores in 2019 after its viral moment

The red coat Nancy Pelosi wore after an explosive Oval Office meeting with President Trump has set the Internet ablaze — like another garment worn by the first lady earlier this year.

The California Democrat, and likely next House speaker, walked out of the West Wing Tuesday after a heated debate with Trump in the Oval Office over outstanding budget issues, wearing a rust-colored coat, sunglasses, and a smile.

The Internet went wild. Twitter users wondered where they, too, could purchase the coat. Unfortunately for them, it came from a 2013 clothing lineup.

But the coat’s renewed popularity online inspired its designer, Max Mara, to announce Wednesday that it’d be reissuing the coat in 2019.

“The GLAMIS coat was from the 2013 Max Mara collection and will be reinstated for 2019 in a variety of color ways,” a press release said, according to an editor at Glamour magazine.

Max Mara creative director Ian Griffiths said he was honored by Pelosi’s sartorial choice.

“You develop an emotional relationship with a coat like nothing else in your wardrobe. I can imagine why Ms. Pelosi chose to wear it for this important moment, and I’m honored,” he said in a statement.
