Kevin Spacey reportedly under investigation for more sex crimes in Britain

British police are investigating a total of six claims of sexual assault against American actor Kevin Spacey, three more than U.K. officials had previously disclosed, according to a report published Wednesday.

Detectives have opened probes into alleged assaults in London’s Westminster borough in 1996 and Gloucester, England, in 2013. Police did not specifically name Spacey as the target of those new investigations.

But police confirmed that the new claims were made against the same person accused in earlier allegations, the Associated Press reported.

Spacey worked as artistic director at London’s Old Vic theater from 2004 through 2015.

More than 30 men have accused the Academy Award-winning actor of sexual misconduct, prompting both American and British government officials to open criminal investigations into the charges.

The Old Vic theater in London said 20 men have issued “personal testimonies” against Spacey since the first allegation was made last fall.

This April, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department announced it began an investigation in December into a separate alleged incident involving a man in West Hollywood in 1992.

The statute of limitations in California is 10 years, but the prosecutor’s office was reported as still working on the case.

British investigators are looking into charges that Spacey sexually assaulted three men in London more recently, between 2005 and 2008.

Actor Anthony Rapp was the first person to accuse Spacey. He said Spacey made sexual advances toward him in 1986, when Rapp was 14 years old and Spacey was 26.

Spacey was immediately removed from Netflix’s “House of Cards” show and has kept a low profile for the past six months. He has repeatedly denied allegations of sexual misconduct.
