Commentator resigns after threatening to sexually assault gun control activist David Hogg

Sinclair Broadcast Group canceled the show of a St. Louis-based conservative commentator after he threatened to sexually assault Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg on Twitter.

Jamie Allman, who hosted a nightly show on KDNL, a Sinclair-owned ABC affiliate out of St. Louis, resigned after major advertisers pulled their advertisements from airing during his show after a social media campaign brought to light his inappropriate comments.

“When we kick their ass they all like to claim we’re drunk. I’ve been hanging out getting ready to ram a hot poker up David Hogg’s ass tomorrow. Busy working. Preparing,” Allman tweeted about outspoken gun control activist David Hogg.

Seventeen-year-old Hogg is a survivor of the deadly mass shooting that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., on Feb. 14. Hogg has worked as an advocate for stricter gun laws since the tragedy.

Allman’s Twitter account has since been suspended and the tweet is no longer available, but a screenshot provided to the Riverfront Times shows the explicit comments.

After facing a social media campaign calling on advertisers to drop Allman, he officially resigned from his position and the network immediately canceled his show.

“We have accepted Mr. Allman’s resignation, and his show has been cancelled,” a spokesman for Sinclair told The Washington Post.

This controversy comes just one week after Sinclair Broadcast Group came under fire for broadcasting a mandated and scripted anti-fake news message across the many of company’s stations. Many saw the messaging as “Trumpian” and like state-run media.
