Koch retreat to feature forum with three possible 2016’ers

In a first for 2015, three potential presidential candidates are scheduled to share the stage Sunday evening, offering a preview of the GOP primary debates that begin in August.

Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Marco Rubio of Florida will take part in a discussion on domestic issues in Palm Springs, Calif., as part of festivities surrounding the “American Recovery Policy Forum” sponsored by Freedom Partners, the umbrella organization that oversees political groups sponsored by billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch.

The forum, intended as a conversation and not a debate, is being moderated by ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Karl.

Conservative activists and donors from around the country are expected to be in attendance. It is scheduled to begin at 11 p.m. Eastern.

The Koch brothers and their political organizations have become influential in GOP political circles, both for the money they bring to the table and their ability to motivate grassroots participation.
