Gas prices throughout the region are up dramatically in recent weeks, with increases expected to continue through the end of the month and possibly beyond.
“Since the first of February, gas prices are up about 40 cents,” said AAA spokesman John Townsend. “It’s $2.51 nationwide, it’s $2.63 in the District of Columbia. It’s skyrocketed since Monday, and in the last 30 days.”
