A woman who has accused Bill Clinton of rape and Hillary Clinton of trying to silence her is supporting Donald Trump for president.
Juanita Broaddrick has re-emerged right as Bill Clinton has gone on the campaign trail in support of his wife’s presidential candidacy.
“I’ve been quiet for too long, and now with the possibility of [Hillary Clinton] being the Democratic nominee and possibly president, I feel the need to get involved,” Broaddrick told the Hill, explaining why she chose to break her silence now.
The former Arkansas accused Bill Clinton of raping her in the 1970s when he was serving as the state attorney general. The allegation came out in the 1990s while Clinton was president.
Trump has made an issue of the accusation and Clinton’s history with women during the campaign, even likening the former president to Bill Cosby. “He says the things I like to hear,” Broaddrick said of the businessman.
Broaddrick’s allegations have never been confirmed, but Kathleen Wiley also accused Clinton of sexual assault and Paul Jones accused him of sexual harassment. The 42nd president also had extramarital affairs with Gennifer Flowers and Monica Lewinsky, the latter taking place while she was a White House intern and he was president.
“I’m glad someone did. Everyone has been hanging back and most of the mainstream media won’t approach it but it’s something that should be talked about,” Broaddrick said of Trump calling the Clinton’s lecherous history to light on the campaign trail.
